The workplace health management scheme has been awarded a seal of excellence.
The latest prestigious accolade for Glen Dimplex Germany’s workplace health management programme: following the gold certificate awarded by AOK Bayern in December 2021, the company can now also boast the ‘Excellence’ quality seal from the Corporate Health Awards 2022. Based on a detailed audit, a panel of experts has thus confirmed that Glen Dimplex takes outstanding care of its employees, provides them with a comprehensive range of personalised benefits, and promotes a culture of health both structurally and strategically.
The Corporate Health Award has been presented since 2009 and is regarded as the most prestigious award for excellence in workplace health management in Germany. The organisers – the Handelsblatt Media Group and the leading market research, analysis and certification institute EUPD Research – use the award to raise awareness of the ever-increasing importance of health, satisfaction and performance in working life. At the same time, a Germany-wide benchmark enables employers to analyse their own management practices against the underlying quality standards.
The award recognising the organisation as one of Germany’s best employers with an audited corporate health system was accepted by HR Business Partner and Occupational Health Manager Dr Benjamin Dörr, together with his colleagues Helga Knopf (Occupational Welfare Officer and Occupational Health Management Manager) and Christoph Zimmermann (Occupational Safety Specialist), as well as his line manager Michael Landgraf (Chief People Manager), at the awards ceremony in Bonn.
“We are proud to have passed the audit and to have come this far. The health of our colleagues right up to retirement and beyond is very important to us.”
Alongside occupational medicine, health and safety, and workplace integration management, health promotion is and remains a key pillar at Glen Dimplex Germany. Initiatives such as the ‘Active Break’ in production and logistics are well received, as are the wide range of services on offer, including Qigong, nutritional and addiction counselling, and preventive health checks such as carotid artery screening and cancer screening. Together with the management, Glen Dimplex Germany is pulling in the same direction in this area to maintain the health of its staff. In return, the staff show their appreciation through trust, a high level of commitment and a falling number of sick days.
For Dörr and his colleagues, however, the quality seal is no reason to rest on their laurels. On the contrary, it is an incentive to achieve even more.
““We now know that we are well on the way,” he emphasises. The findings of the in-depth audit are instead to be used to improve even further in one area or another.”
